Yobe villagers killed by Boko Haram get mass burial

Funeral prayers were today conducted for 34 deceased persons killed by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Mafa village, Tarmuwa local government area.

The 34 persons were killed in Mafa Village, and their corpses conveyed to Babbangida for burial.

Gunmen suspected to be Boko haram terrorists on Sunday attacked Mafa village killing, burning and looting properties.

The Chief imam of yobe Mosque and Islamic center, Ustas Hudu Mohammed Yusuf, led the funeral prayer of the deceased persons.

The state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, who was attending security meeting in Abuja, was represented by his deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, at the funeral prayer which took place at the palace of Mai Jajere, in Babbangida.

Governor Buni condoled with the families of the victims, the people of Mafa, Tarmuwa local government area and Yobe state in general.

Gov. Buni donated N30 million to the family of the deceased and injured persons.

He directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide food items and other relief materials to families of the victims.

He assured that government would continue to liaise with security agencies to check the incursion of the terrorists and criminals into the state.

The Gov. also called on the people to continue to pray for peace in the area and the entire state.

Responding, the Emir of Jajere Alh Mai Hamza Buba Mashio, expressed gratitude to the the state government for it’s concern and immediate response.

He further appealed to the state government and well to do members of the society to come to the aid of the displaced people of Mafa people who have now relocated to Babbangida to provide them with shelter and other basic necessities of life.

Special prayers were offered by the chief imam yobe mosque and Islamic center Ustas Hudu Mohammed Yusuf for Allah to forgive thier shortcomings and grant them Aljannatul Firdausi..

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Deputy speaker yobe state House of assembly,leader of the house, member representing Tarmuwa, Commissioners of Housing and Justice, Permanent secretary administration and general service,head of security agencies and special advisers on political,Basic and secondary education as well as security matters and health.
