A prince of Zazzau and son of the immediate past Emir Shehu Idris has died, the emirate has confirmed.
He died in his home, not in road accident on the Kaduna-Abuja-Kaduna highway as earlier reported.
Alhaji Umar Shehu Idris, 41, was until his death on Tuesday afternoon the Dan Isan Zazzau and Assistant Secretary to the Zazzau Emirate Council.
He is survived by two wives, two children and many siblings.
The Media and Publicity Officer of the Zazzau Emirate, Mallam Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, confirmed the death, saying janazah (funeral prayer) will hold at the emir’s palace in Zaria on Wednesday morning.
The deceased’s biological mother and wife of the late Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris, and mother-in- law to the Incumbent Emir, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, died 39 days ago.
