When I read some views about the political gladiators making them look large than life, I have this feeling that we must deceiving ourselves because we are more comfortable retaining our positions which were given to us to keep supporting these gladiators even when their relevance in the scheme of things thinning out.
Today, in Nigeria, the people are getting fed up with recycled politicians and longing for a breath of fresh air they can obtain it and whatever cost.
Enough is enough for all these politicians with little or no integrity but having a large appetite for primitive accumulation of wealth and gargantuan greed to make our national progress too slow.
In the context of our reality, any Nigerian can see very clearly that it imperative for a bridge between the present and the future for the purpose of continuity in programmes and policies and at the same time there is room for fine-tuning wherever and whenever necessary.
This is why a patriotic Nigerian will support the move to bring Professor Yemi Osinbajo into this presidential race.
Bringing the argument that some people are hiding behind Osinbajo to oppose the aspiration Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead this at this critical situation of the country is not the best for us a nation.
Tinubu has played his role in bringing about a decisive change in Nigeria but he is not likely to perform creditably as President of Nigeria in 2023.
And it is time we stop deceiving ourselves by making the wrong choice in our recruitment of leaders due to primordial sentiments.
Osinbajo is not showing interest in the nation’s Presidency as much as Tinubu is doing at the moment but many NIGERIANS know that if called upon to do the job the current Vice- President will prove his mettle by hitting the ground running.
2023 Presidential race is, from all indications, likely to throw up surprises and the Lilliputians will definitely take the back seat in national interests.
