Zulum sends Eid greetings from Saudi Arabia, pledges more resettlement in Borno

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has extended Eid al-Adha greetings to Muslims in the state and beyond, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security, resettlement, and support for displaced persons.

The governor, currently in Saudi Arabia for Hajj, said the Festival of Sacrifice is a time for Muslims to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, selflessness, compassion, and devotion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, Zulum said the period should remind Muslims to support the less privileged and uphold the values of love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

He reiterated his administration’s resolve to sustain peace and security across Borno, especially in resettled communities, while strengthening assistance for displaced persons, refugees, and returnees.

“We will continue to work very closely with the military and other security agencies as well as volunteer forces to ensure peace and tranquility prevail in our communities. My administration’s commitment to security is second to none,” Zulum said.

The governor pledged to intensify efforts on community resettlement and economic empowerment, adding that more communities would be resettled before the end of his tenure. He also promised to complete ongoing developmental projects across the state.

Zulum commended the APC for the peaceful conduct of its recent primary elections in Borno, saying the process demonstrated unity and cohesion within the party.

He urged citizens to continue praying for sustainable peace in Borno and Nigeria, and called for peaceful conduct ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor wished Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid al-Adha celebration and extended Hajj Mabroor wishes to Borno pilgrims in the holy land.
