Allies of Yariman Zazzau Munir Jaafaru have told the supporters of the traditional title holder that the Kaduna State Government has yet to name a new Emir of Zazzau.
Dateline Nigeria reports that Jaafaru, a son of former emir of Zazzau Jaafaru Dan Isyaku, is the only contender to the throne from the Barebari ruling house.
San Turakin Zazzau Mallam Surajuddenn Yakubu, speaking on behalf of friends of Yariman Zazzau, said, “We want to inform the teeming supporters of Yariman Zazzau that the government has not made any announcement on the new Emir of Zazzau.
“Some people are the ones spreading the rumour on social media for reasons best known to them. So we urge the teeming supporters of Yariman Zazzau to continue to pray for what is best for all us,” Yakubu said.
