Bauchi State Police Command has arrested one Kabiru Ahmed for allegedly stabbing a man identified as Hamza Usman to death allegedly over a girlfriend.
Bauchi Police Public Relations Officer PPRO DSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil stated this in a statement on Friday in Bauchi.
He said last Wednesday a distress call received from Good Samaritan reveal that one Hamza Usman, 23, of Anguwar Mahaukata Bauchi went to his 15-year old girlfriend’s house by name Ramlat Shehu (not real name) of same address, he was attacked and stabbed on his chest by one Kabiru Ahmed, 18, of Karofi.
Wakil said “as a result of bleeding, the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical examination where a medical doctor certified him dead”
He said on receipt of the information, policemen were drafted to the scene and the principal suspect Kabiru Ahmed was arrested.
Moreover, during investigation the suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned two other accomplices Abdul aka Walplay and Waleed aka Bandi now at large. Wakil said effort is on top gear to arrest the remaining fleeing suspects.
He said Commissioner of Police directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department SCID for discreet investigation.
