Minister inaugurates working group on regional development

The Ministry of Regional Development has inaugurated its Core Working Group (CWG) on Regional Development to strengthen policy coordination and drive inclusive, sustainable growth across Nigeria.

Speaking at the event in Abuja on 15 December 2025, the Honourable Minister of State for Regional Development, H.E. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, described the initiative as a strategic step aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at addressing long-standing regional development gaps.

The Minister emphasized the need for locally driven, secure, accountable, and sustainable development approaches, supported by strong governance frameworks and effective monitoring mechanisms.

The CWG will serve as the Ministry’s technical engine, providing evidence-based inputs to guide regional development planning and implementation.

The engagement is holding from 15–16 December 2025 in Abuja, with support from key national institutions and development partners.
