The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, has undertaken a critical assessment of security deployment in the border Local Government Areas of Shanono and Tsanyawa.
This visit is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, to dominate the public space against all criminal threats, and reaffirms the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.
The inspection follows recent security concerns, including abduction and cattle rustling, suspected to be perpetrated by migrating bandits from neighbouring States.
It also follows the reinforcement of security in the area with additional manpower and equipment. During the visit, CP Bakori inspected the deployment of security personnel and equipment, acknowledging the efforts of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the area.
He emphasized the need for heightened vigilance and called on officers to remain at alert and dedicated to their duty.
Assuring the public of the Command’s tireless efforts to ensure their safety, CP Bakori stated, “We are committed to protecting the people of Kano State, and we urge citizens to continue reporting suspicious activities and cooperate with us to combat crime.”
The Commissioner of Police expressed gratitude to the State Government, Local Government Chairmen of the affected areas, and community members for their support and cooperation, acknowledging the importance of collaboration in maintaining peace and security.
“Your prayers, understanding, and prompt reporting of security concerns have been invaluable, and we appreciate your efforts,” he said.
The Kano State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to safeguard the state, and CP Bakori’s visit underscores the Command’s determination to stay ahead of emerging security challenges.
