Tambuwal hails ‘galant’ Nigerian Army for repelling ISWAP attack on Sabon Birni

Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has hailed the Nigerian army from repelling an attack on some military formations in Sabon Birni by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Tambuwal, in a statement he personally signed on Monday, described ths repulsion as a valorous outing by all the security operatives in the general area.

“This brave act reinforces our ceaseless commitment, as a state government, to the quest for peace and peaceful coexistence. It also further strengthen our resolve at ensuring that all the security outfits on the call of duty in our state continue to work in harmony and have synergy.

“We, at once, deplore the incursion of ISWAP into our beloved state as despicable, demonic and destructive act that must not be allowed to stand or pass.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Sokoto, we applaud the military for steadfastness and doggedness in trying to halt this menace of insurgency that has for sometime now been the bane of our dear country.

“We stand firm in support of the entire security apparatus in the country for their patriotic zeal and consistent efforts to rout the perpetrators of this dastardly acts across the nation.

“As we pray for more victories for our gallant soldiers, we are convinced that in no distant future the nation shall overcome this challenge,” Tambuwal said.
