Today, Friday, December 20, 2024, marked the wedding ceremony of Dr. Salma Umar Namadi, the daughter of Jigawa State Governor Umar A. Namadi and Abba Sulaiman Musa Kadira.
The event took place at the Dutse Central Mosque, the capital city of Jigawa State, with a dowry set at N300,000.
The wedding was graced by high-profile dignitaries from within and outside the state.
Among them were the Governors Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Nasir Idris (Kebbi) and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara).
Other notable attendees included the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari; the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abubakar Kyari; the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Bagudu; as well as former governors of Jigawa State, Dr. Sule Lamido, Dr. Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, and Barr. Ali Sa’adu Birnin Kudu.
The former Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Abubakar Dakingari, and the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Muhammad Nuhu Sunusi, were also among the distinguished guests who witnessed the occasion.
Additional attendees included Senator Danladi Sankara, Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, Pharmacist Hashim Ubale Yusuf, Alhaji Farouk Adamu Aliyu, and several members of the National Assembly representing various constituencies in Jigawa State, as well as lawmakers representing other regions.
State lawmakers, local government chairpersons, party leaders, prominent religious scholars from within and outside the state, traditional rulers, business moguls, senior government officials, and a multitude of citizens also graced the event.
The Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Engr. Aminu Usman; the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin; the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim Mamsa; and other top government officials served as the principal hosts of the guests.
The wedding ceremony was officiated by the Chief Imam of Dutse Central Mosque, Dr. Abubakar Sani Birnin Kudu. Prayers were offered after the ceremony for a peaceful and blessed union.
