You mean Twitter can ban people but nobody can ban them?

There is a public forum and there are publishers. If people are told to harm themselves using a public forum and they do it, the public forum is not held liable because it is a public forum, people are responsible for what they post there.

On the other hand, a Publisher is liable for what it publishes. So if a publisher says people should drink acids and they do he is liable for their death.

Now the hypocrisy of Twitter is that they say they are not publishers when people use it to harm others, but in the same breadth they want to ensure no one post what THEY don’t like as though they are publishers. They want to claim public forum to prevent liabilities that are theirs, then turn around to play publisher to ensure everyone acts in line with their dictates. You can’t have it both ways.

And for those who say will they ban Facebook, don’t forget Jack Dorsey who owns Twitter sent money down to support a violent End SARS protest in Nigeria. Don’t forget that while Facebook was taming Nnamdi Kanu for violating their hate speech policy, Twitter was allowing him have a blast.

I mean, after Rwanda, everyone pretty much agreed that referring to a specific set of persons as animals is genocidal, yet Nnamdi Kanu says this about Nigeria and Nigerians everyday on Twitter and it is being reported and they left it there. Is that not suspicious?

I have reported several Fani Kayode tweets where he called Fulani people clearly racist and genocidal names, Twitter said he did not violate their rules. He won’t survive Facebook with that amount of nonsense. So don’t drag Facebook into it even though they have a little of the madness too.

I can’t clearly say I support the ban on Twitter, I am not sure considering that it is a place of business for many and the ban is sudden and considering that it has done worse than pull down the President’s tweet, but to say Twitter in Nigeria is not an issue is to be ignorant about what is going on.

That Jack guy is even generally creepy. A good number of American legislatures will hold the same view with the arrogance he took to Congress. The guy thinks he is the owner of the world because of his monotonous App.
