Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, has reaffirmed the state government’s strong commitment to promoting inclusion for women and other marginalised groups.
She made the remarks on Wednesday during a reception for a delegation from the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) and partners, led by Dr. Chris Ngara.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Uba Sani, Dr. Balarabe said Kaduna treats inclusion as a core development priority.
She highlighted efforts to empower women politically and economically, noting that government appointments reflect the state’s diversity and that women are placed in key decision-making roles.

The Deputy Governor also pointed to the Gender Responsive Procurement Policy—removing registration fees for women-owned enterprises and allocating a share of government contracts to them—as a practical step toward equal opportunity.
She also referenced the Kaduna State Disability Act of 2021 as a significant step toward integrating persons with disabilities into public life.
Dr. Balarabe described the proposed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Bill as an essential tool to eliminate barriers and pledged her full support for its passage in the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
She assured that Kaduna State will continue advancing policies that reduce inequality and ensure all communities benefit from the state’s progress.
